Picture of the Day 2012

Picture of the Day: 2012. I try to take at least one picture each day. Sometimes they are exciting, sometimes not so much.

Pentatonix

Apr. 9, 2012

Another obsession of mine is the a cappella group Pentatonix. They won season 3 of the Sing-Off (here's hoping NBC brings the show back for a 4th season). So walking through the grocery store, these bottles caught my eye:

If it were tonic water, they'd be Penta-tonix :)

He Is Risen!

Easter Sunday :) Alleluia!

Hunger Ga...er, Egg Hunt

Apr. 7, 2012

Seth and I volunteered to hide eggs at Trinity Methodist's egg hunt. My friend Pat asked if we wanted to help, and since Seth needs 'service' hours for school I figured it would at least be not totally painful for him.

When we showed up, others had already finished the toddler area:

Seth busted out laughing and said it looked like the cornucopia in the Hunger Games. It really did, especially with the cones laid out around it like the Tribute pads. We spent a couple hours hiding eggs in the areas for older kids and tried not to touch any poison oak. We didn't stick around to watch the bloodbath ;)

Passover

Apr. 6, 2012

Mike got back into town the night before, so we could get all the final things done for Passover Seder. We've celebrated Passover at our house for at least the last 18 years I think, with a variety of friends and family. One of the first few in California gave us one of our favorite Seder quotes:  "Mike said 'amen', DRINK!" Mike is happy if he's not the only Jewish person at the Seder, which happens more often than not nowadays :)

Personal Trainer

This is Charles, my new personal trainer. He enjoys torture of both himself and others. Smile for the nice folks Charles ;)

Draw Something

Apr. 4, 2012

My new obsession, along with a good chunk of the internet--Draw Something! I'd seen several people talking about it online, so I downloaded the free version. I hadn't started any games yet when I saw Seth playing it. He and I started a game and I had so much fun I texted Mike in Seattle and told him he had to download it so I could play with him too :)

2 of the guys at Request--Andy and Andrew--both played it, so they gave me a good tip of which color pack to get when I had enough coins, even though neither of them could figure out the drawing Mike sent me while I was in there for a session. Here's one I sent him:

Chairs

Apr. 3, 2012

Seth and I like Las Margaritas a lot more than Mike does, so we usually go there at least once when Mike's out of town. Their new location is actually worse for us even though it's closer. Ever since they moved, they've been very crowded and they don't have enough parking. If we want to eat there we have to either be resigned to a 30 minute wait, or get there 5 minutes before they open. There's always a line, but you're at least guaranteed a table within a few minutes of getting in the door.

Anyway, this post is about the chairs. Their new decor is pretty. I'd never get it in my house, but it looks good here. I don't know if all the chairs are different, or if there just aren't very many duplicates. The booths also have cool decorations on them.
