I should have heeded the advice of everyone on this one. I was just in a theater-going mood and I'm a sucker for science fiction, so I saw 'John Carter'. It was pretty bad. It wasn't even good eye-candy. Not even hunky guy from 'Friday Night Lights' could improve it. Sigh.
