Our neighbor Phil took us out on his boat on Lake Santa Fe. The water level was really low--we need rain! It was tricky getting out of the canal that leads from the public dock to the lake. It was only deep enough right in the middle, and even that wasn't deep enough in some places. We had to take turns with other boats that were returning to the dock. We did eventually get out onto the lake, but unfortunately we also had engine trouble from crud that got clogged up in there. We still had a good time just floating out on the lake and enjoying the day. There was a tiny smattering of rain. There was also big excitement when a mouse joined us in the boat. He ended up trapped in a corner while we made it back to the dock.
