Ok, here's the rundown on the trip:
Mike's cousin Sue announced a while back that she was getting married--fantastic so far! Then she said the wedding was going to be in Mexico--bah. I had zero interest in going to Mexico, plus there was the expense, and we had already planned the St. Croix trip and I was going to go on a cruise of Alaska with my dad over the summer. Mike wanted to go, but I wasn't thrilled about it, and at the time his mom and stepdad weren't planning on going either, for health reasons. As the months went by, Mike felt more and more that he really needed to be there and he eventually won me over for Sue's sake. Even though we hadn't seen much of Sue lately, we were close to her and her family. We had been at her brother Jake's bar mitzvah and wedding, and Sue's bat mitzvah, and it would be a shame if we missed her wedding...
So off we went to Cabo San Lucas. It was very beautiful and the travel went fairly smoothly--except when Mike forgot his CPAP machine on the airplane in Mexico, and even that wasn't too bad. We learned how hard it is to get to the shuttle buses--you have to run the gauntlet of timeshare salesmen who all tell you they are the ones from whom you need to get a bus ticket.
We did eventually get to our hotel, and we were able to relax. We stayed at the Bahia Hotel which turned out to be a big spring break party place, and was across the street from Casa Dorada where Uncle Max, Aunt Carol, and cousin Jake and his family were staying. This picture was the view from Max and Carol's balcony. I was able to meet Jake and Lacey's girls for the first time--they are adorable :)
