My dad treks down to Florida from Illinois at the end of January or beginning of February, and the big event going on in Gainesville at that time is the Hoggetowne Medieval Faire. We've gone most years we've lived here, and this year was one of the best. The weather was perfect, and the crowd seemed to reflect that, plus it felt like there were more vendors and acts than the last few times we've gone. I think I even saw my dad chuckle at a few of the comedy shows :)
